Our Supporters

National Relief Charities is supported by over half a million individual Americans who are concerned about living conditions on the reservations. NRC is also supported by world-class charities and businesses that donate material goods for distribution (commonly referred to as gift-in-kind donations). Currently, over 70% of NRC's cash and in-kind donations go toward programs.

National Relief Charities extends a special thanks to:
  • Mathew 25
  • Mercy Corps International
  • International Aid
  • Feed the Children
  • eBay
  • Melba Bayers Meyer Trust
  • The Windmill Foundation
Together, you help NRC and our Program Partners create a positive impact for over 300,000 Native American people each year who are simply grateful that you remember them.

Over 4 million pounds of goods go to our partners every year.
National Relief Charities is also a member of VOAD (Volunteer Organizations in Disaster). The VOAD is a collective of members that voluntarily respond to environmental emergencies and natural disasters. NRC responded to 9 such emergencies last year. As such, we want to acknowledge VOAD and our other collaboratives:

  • American Red Cross, Black Hills Chapter
  • Americorps
  • South Dakota Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster

National Relief Charities adheres to the international Code of Conduct for NGO Organizations in Disaster Relief. NGO refers to nongovernmental entities such as nonprofits. The NGO code goes hand in hand with "The NRC Way". It also takes into account that goods have the highest value when they are the specific goods that a Partner needs. Because NRC strives to put the right products into the hands of the right Partners, we are able to put the goods to work in a way that achieves additional desired outcomes. This means that your in-kind products will have more impact when you donate them to NRC.
